LeBron James had a short, impactful message for anyone who cared to hear after the Cavaliers' loss Thursday to the Thunder in Oklahoma City:
" Charles Oakley for president. "
James, was referring to Knicks legend Charles Oakley, who was unceremoniously removed from Madison Square Garden on Wednesday after getting into a spat with security guards who came to his seat. He was later arrested and later charged with three counts of misdemeanor assault and one count of criminal trespass.
Reports differ as to exactly why Oakley was asked to leave MSG (Oakley says Knicks owner James Dolan has it out for him ; the Knicks disagree ). Regardless, Oakley has received tons of support since the incident, ranging from the "Banana Boat" gang to an entire arena's worth of New York hockey fans .
James, in fact, posted a photo of Oakley in a Knicks uniform on social media soon after the incident.
The longer this goes on, the more support Oakley will receive — and the worse Dolan and the Knicks will look.
