What motivates athletes? Is it the ability to provide for your family? Is it to be the best athlete possible? Is it not letting your teammates down? For Heat center Hassan Whiteside, it's his fish.

"I'm motivated when I wake up. I eat breakfast, I get more motivated. I look at my fish tank, I get even more motivated," he told reporters Friday.

You might laugh this off, but Whiteside's fishtank is no ordinary tank of fish. The $100 million player contacted producers from the Animal Planet series "Tanked" to install an elaborate 1,500 gallon tank in his home.

Whiteside recently showed it off on his Snapchat account.

Back to the motivating fish, though. What about them draws inspiration?

"The way they can swim all day and not really do nothing," he said. "It must be nice."
