Thunder's Russell Westbrook puts up stat line unseen in 41 years

Russell Westbrook proved Friday that he doesn't miss having Kevin Durant by his side.

The Thunder point guard put together a historic night to help Oklahoma City beat the Suns 113-110 in overtime by scoring 51 points with 13 rebounds and 10 assists. It's the first 50-point triple-double since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 1975.

Despite the impressive stat line, a closer look does show a few flaws in Westbrook's performance. He shot just 17 of 44 from the field, and 2 of 10 from beyond the arc.

The poor shooting aside, Westbrook was everywhere on the court to lead the Thunder (2-0) back from a 6-point deficit entering the fourth quarter.

Westbrook, who scored 32 points with 12 rebounds and nine assists in a season-opening win over the  76ers, has clearly found a nice rhythm in this offense without Durant taking away opportunities.
