Fan voting for the NBA All-Star Game can lead to some crazy things, even the naming of an unborn child.
One fan got his wife to agree to an interesting proposal: If he got 25,000 retweets, their child will be named DeMarcus Cousins. Considering his small following, this seemed like an impossible feat. But never doubt the power of Twitter.
My wife said if I get 25k Retweets, we can name our first child DeMarcus Cousins. Lets make it happen. #NBAVote

The tweet slowly gained traction and eventually reached the 25,000 mark. The first big boost came from the Kings' social media account, which made its followers aware of it. Even Cousins saw the tweet, retweeted it and met with the fan at a game.
After that, the folks at Twitter took notice and created a Twitter Moment for the tweet. That provided the tweet a much larger audience, and it reached its goal pretty quickly.
WE DID IT, TWITTER. Shoutout to future DeMarcus Cousins. #NBAVote https://t.co/uZwZc9jlZX

The main reason for the tweet was to acquire votes for Cousins, and it's certainly working.
