Wizards fans who came to see native son Kevin Durant play in the nation's capital only were able to do so for 93 seconds after the All-Star hyperextended his left knee after Zaza Pachulia was pushed into him by the Wizards' Marcin Gortat.
With Durant out, Stephen Curry was asked to pick up the offense, but the two-time MVP struggled from deep for a second straight game, going 9 of 20 from the field, including 2 of 9 from beyond the arc. Curry is 2-for-20 from deep the past two games after his 0-for-11 night Monday.
Curry still finished with 25 points in the 112-108 loss, Golden State's 10th — one more than all of last season.
Bradley Beal scored 25 points and Markieff Morris added 22 for the Wizards, who blew a 61-49 halftime lead only to win in the final 20 seconds with four free-throw makes.
Durant exited with zero points, ending his streak of 562 regular-season games with at least 10 points.
Russell Westbrook joined NBA greats Oscar Robinson and Wilt Chamberlain as the only players to record 30 triple-doubles in a season Tuesday against the Jazz. Westbrook, who scored 43 to go along with 11 rebounds and 10 assists in the win, can pass Chamberlain with two more triple-doubles.
His performance Tuesday wasn't without incredible plays, which included this ridiculous 4-point sequence:
Bulls All-Star Jimmy Butler made just three field goals in a 125-107 home loss to the Nuggets. Butler was a minus-20 on the night and finished with just eight points.
Vince Carter, 40, was ejected for elbowing 20-year-old Devin Booker in the face, dropping him to the court with just under four minutes left in the first quarter. Carter finished with zero points.
Blazers shooting guard C.J. McCollum can also attack the basket and throw it down. Just check out his dunk against the Pistons.
