Kareem Abdul-Jabbar hospitalized again with chest pain, returns home

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was hospitalized again Wednesday morning with chest pain two weeks after undergoing quadruple bypass surgery April 16.

The 68-year-old basketball Hall of Famer was taken to the hospital following a 911 call, .

Six hours later, a was sent from Abdul-Jabbar's account to promote The Gift Back Project, but it's not known if Abdulul-Jabbar himself sent the tweet. 

UPDATE: that Abdul-Jabbar briefly returned to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center due to dizziness, but was discharged from the emergency department and returned home after tests found no further complications.

Following an All-American career at UCLA as Lew Alcindor, Abdul-Jabbar was drafted by the Bucks in 1969 and then traded to the Lakers in 1975, where he remained until 1989. He helped lead the Bucks to their only NBA title in 1971, his first of six NBA championships. Abdul-Jabbar won six MVP awards and, at the time of his retirement, was the NBA's all-time leader in points scored (38,387), field goals made (15,837) and blocked shots (3,189). During his 20-year career, he was a 19-time All-Star.
