The Hornets' fading chances of locking up a playoff spot could get even dimmer.
Center Al Jefferson sat out the second half of the Hornets 93-74 loss to the Pacers on Friday night with a right knee injury. Head coach Steve Clifford told reporters it is “definitely”
“He’s dragging his leg around and then you compensate,” Clifford said, according to The Charlotte Observer. “The guy literally couldn’t pivot and turn. I don’t know if he’ll play again. It’s just not fair to him.”
Jefferson has had that knee drained three times in the past ten days. He's averaged 16.8 points and 8.5 rebounds in 64 games this season.
The Hornets (32-43) are currently in 11th place, and would need to pass three teams — Miami, Boston and Indiana — to get into the eighth playoff spot. The Hornets have lost head-to-head matchups with Boston and Indiana this week.
