Hornets minority owner Nelly charged with drug possession

Rapper and Hornets minority owner Nelly has found himself in . 

The rapper, whose real name is Cornell Hayes, was arrested and hit with multiple drug charges after in Putnam County, Tennessee.

Hayes was charged with felony possession of drugs, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

According to WSMV in Nashville, state troopers say they stopped his bus because it was improperly marked before smelling marijuana outside the bus. Once inside, the troopers reportedly found five crystal-typed rocks that tested positive for methamphetamine as well as a small amount of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.

The St. Louis rapper was one of six people on the bus, where police also found several handguns.

Nelly has been involved with Charlotte's NBA franchise since its inception in 2004. Last year, his relationship with Greg Hardy's then-girlfriend Nicole Holder was that led to domestic assault allegations.
